He is also an ordained Won-Buddhist minister, currently serving as an HK Research Professor at the Institute of Mind Humanities, Wonkwang University. He integrates doctrinal study and contemplative practice, focusing on meditation, mindfulness, and ethical cultivation as applied to everyday life and social engagement. > He has taught meditation in both academic and retreat settings, including the Won Dharma Center in New York. He has published widely and co-translated several major works on mindfulness into Korean, including Mindful America, Buddhist Foundations of Mindfulness, Handbook of Mindfulness in Education, and Handbook of Ethical Foundations of Mindfulness, aiming to connect global contemplative thought with Korean spirituality.Dr. Jo is also the author of Now, I Am Walking My Own Path (2020), and his recent work on Hug Mudra Meditation—a compassion-based practice of self-embrace combined with mindful breathing—reflects his commitment to evolving a socially engaged form of mind cultivation rooted in Won-Buddhist philosophy. > >
