Garry Jacobs is President and CEO of the World Academy of Art & Science (WAAS); Chairman and CEO of the World University Consortium; Editor, Cadmus Journal; Research Director of The Mother’s Service Society (India); and Full Member, Club of Rome.
He also heads HS4A, the Academy’s global campaign project on Human Security for All launched in 2022 by WAAS in collaboration with the UN Trust Fund on Human Security, to promote a human-centered paradigm of security, the theme of the 9th Inter-faith Symposium in January 2023.
Garry is an American social scientist and international consultant on business, economy, education, sustainable development, peace and security. His research focuses on transnational, transdisciplinary approach to the unification of the social sciences, synthesis of the objective and subjective dimensions of social life, social evolution, universal values and spirituality.
He served previously as Founder and Secretary of the International Commission on Peace & Food (1989-1994), promoting the post-Cold War transition, and editor of the Commission’s report to the UN, Uncommon Opportunities: Agenda for Peace and Equitable Development. Since 1973, Garry he has directed social science research at The Mother’s Service Society, a WAAS Center of Excellence, in Pondicherry, India.
